Fashion brands celebrated big anniversaries. Louis Vuitton celebrated the bicentennial birthday of its founder with an exhibition of 200 trunks reimagined by 200 collaborators. The traveling show, at 660 Madison Avenue until the end of the year, held an opening party on Thursday.
Bulgari, the Italian jewelry house, celebrated 50 years in America with an intimate party on Wednesday at the Jazz Club at Aman New York, around the corner from its Fifth Avenue flagship. And Moncler turned 70 with a high-tech retrospective on Oct. 5 at the Highline Stages that featured a computer-generated mountaintop.
On the non-fashion front, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy raised $1.4 million on Oct. 6 at a black-tie gala on Pier 2.
The Louis Vuitton trunk exhibition occupies all nine floors of the former Barneys on Madison Avenue.
‘I wanted to wear a dress that felt like jewelry — Paco Rabanne embodies that the most.’ — Arden Wohl at Bulgari
‘This dress literally made me feel like I was floating, and such fine exquisite details.’ — Charlotte Cho, wearing Andrew Kwon at the Brooklyn Bridge Park
Moncler combined 3-D film and C.G.I. to create a virtual base camp that took visitors through the brand’s 70-year journey.
The Most Dressed features great outfits from up, down and all around town.
