A Brazilian man who had been serving a life sentence for homicide escaped from a prison near Philadelphia on Thursday, the authorities said.
The inmate, Danelo Cavalcante, escaped from Chesco Prison in Chester County on Thursday morning, the local district attorney’s office said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The district attorney’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment late Thursday. Chester County lies just west of Philadelphia.
Mr. Cavalcante is a Brazilian national who is also wanted for homicide in Brazil, the United States Marshals Service said in a notice.
This is a developing story.
