Republicans are seeking to use their legislative powers and other means to seek revenge after former president Donald Trump was convicted last week by a New York jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment to an adult-film actress. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) vowed on “Fox News Sunday” that his party will use “our tools that we have in Congress” to conduct oversight of the process. Few Republicans have come out in defense of the legal process in recent days.
