Grand Theft Auto or GTA fans have been excited as of late, with the release date of GTA 6 potentially being announced soon. Over the last few weeks, reports have hinted that GTA 6 might have a late 2024 or early 2025 release with Raymond James analysts upgrading the stock of Take-Two Interactive considering “very interesting” 2025 and beyond. And if 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is anything to go by, then GTA 6 could be the game that raises the benchmark of gaming for years to come.
While there has been no information regarding the potential gameplay, a massive leak occurred last year when 90 early development videos of GTA 6 surfaced, giving us a first glimpse of what the game could offer. Although the footage was shortly taken down, it was enough to get GTA fans excited.

GTA 6 leak: Rumoured mechanics
According to leaks, GTA 6 could feature several new mechanics that will take the gameplay to the next level. It would feature enhanced crouch and stealth, just like Red Dead Redemption 2. GTA 6 will also reportedly feature enhanced cover mechanics, with players able to move to the other room while still in cover.
Both the protagonists of the game – Jason and Lucia, could get loot bags that can be used to store stacks of cash and gold after carrying out heists. Players might also be able to revive themselves if they get hit hard, similar to the horse revival mechanics of RDR2. Moreover, you could also self suicide, similar to the ‘GOODBYECRUELWORLD’ cheat in GTA San Andreas. Switching shoulders while aiming might also become a thing in GTA 6.
One of the most interesting leaked features is an Eagle Eye system like RDR2. It would reportedly allow the character to highlight items of interest such as security cameras, safes, jewellery, and more. Players might also be able to grapple during fistfights. Additionally, players might also be able to threaten or talk to NPCs, like RDR2.
The game could also feature a health system like RDR2 where the abilities of the character are affected by his health and how much food is consumed. Eating too much food might potentially make the character fat while eating scarcely might have your character looking thin. Both could affect various aspects such as health, stamina, and more.
Thus, if these leaks are anything to go by, then it is possible that GTA 6 might be heavily influenced by Red Dead Redemption 2, which is considered one of the best games of all time due to its vast yet lived-in open-world, plethora of in-game activities, storyline, gameplay mechanics, and more.
Do note that all the information is based on leaks and rumours, and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
