Q2. Your book is now available on Amazon! Please tell our readers about your book “Breaking the Cycle.”
Financial abuse is often hidden in plain sight. It can be subtle, insidious, and manipulative, making it challenging for victims to recognize and address. This book delves into the dark underbelly of financial abuse, exposing the tactics used by abusers to gain control and exploit their victims. It challenges the misconception that financial abuse is a solely female issue, highlighting the devastating impact it has on both men and women.
This book is a testament to the strength and resilience of survivors. It celebrates their courage in breaking free from the chains of financial abuse and sharing their stories to empower others. It acknowledges the role of community, support systems, and professional help in overcoming the trauma of financial abuse. By shedding light on this often-overlooked form of domestic violence, “Breaking the Cycle” aims to spark a conversation, raise awareness, and foster a society that empowers individuals to break free from financial abuse and reclaim their rightful place in the world.
Q3. What motivated and inspired you to write the book?
Financial abuse is frequently an underestimated and neglected issue, yet it plays a pivotal role in the spectrum of domestic violence. It is a form of coercion that often accompanies other abusive behaviors, where the abuser exercises control by restricting access to financial resources, effectively stripping the victim of their independence and complicating their ability to extricate themselves from the abusive environment. Research indicates that a significant percentage of domestic violence cases involve some element of financial control, highlighting the widespread nature of this pernicious problem.
I aimed to amplify the voices of those whose lives have been devastated or destroyed by financial abuse. After conducting extensive research, I was inspired to provide resources and support to those ensnared in similar predicaments. This book delves into the profound impact of financial abuse, offering insight and guidance on how to cultivate a healthier and more autonomous life. Having personally endured this form of mistreatment, the experience can feel akin to being a sacrificial lamb, subjected to immense hardship. The emotional and psychological torment experienced in such situations is intense, often overshadowing the physical aspects of abuse.
Being in such a vulnerable position frequently invites more danger than safety, as it can lead victims to stay in harmful circumstances due to financial dependency. The uncertainty of knowing whom to contact or where to seek help is a common and daunting challenge for many in these situations. Statistics reveal that victims of financial abuse often struggle to access essential resources and support networks due to their financial constraints. This book aspires to be a beacon of hope and a source of support for those facing similar challenges, providing paths to empowerment and self-sufficiency.
Q4. What’s Next? Which book or project are you working on now?
I am currently engaged in conversations about a publishing agreement for my forthcoming books with a publisher. Right now, my focus is on enhancing brand awareness and promoting my earlier works. In 2025, I have arranged interviews with other authors and will be appearing on various podcasts. On a personal level, I am deepening my spiritual journey, establishing clear boundaries to nurture healthier relationships, and working hard to prevent past emotional scars from abandonment and betrayal from resurfacing. With these priorities in mind, I intend to start writing my next book, by the middle of 2025.
