Minecraft Bedrock fans have been waiting for a significant update ever since The Wild was introduced in the summer of 2022. While the earlier versions of 1.19 update has helped in providing some important bug fixes and quality of life improvements, there was not much to speak of in terms of new features. However, the Minecraft Bedrock update 1.19.50 not only changes it, it adds one highly anticipated feature for the players — the spectator mode. If you are a Minecraft Bedrock player as well, then you need to know about all the new things you get to experience after the update. Read on to find out.
It should be noted that the update is exclusively for Bedrock players and different from the update for Java players. The update was released two days ago on November 29. Introducing the highly anticipated feature, the Minecraft blog post said, “In Minecraft, we’ve abandoned most laws of physics but when you enable spectator mode you are throwing them all out of the window”.

The reason there is a lot of excitement for the spectator mode is because this feature has been available to all the Java players for a long time and lets players to fly around and observe the world without interacting with it in any way. Players can move past walls, mountains and even realms themselves.
To enable this new mode, players need to go to Settings and switch the ‘/gamemode spectator’ command on and off if cheats are enabled. The inventory, health, and held items will remain unchanged for the player entering and exiting the spectator mode.
But this is not all. New touch controls will also be available to players now. Instead of being hidden behind a toggle button, they will be turned on by default. Players who have never used the touch controls will be directed to a video to understand the controls better. Alongside players will also get a new range of default skins that join Steve and Alex. It can be accessed in the Dressing section.
Apart from this, there are two more technical changes.
First is a refresh to the Vex which gets a new model and texture. It also gets a slightly larger hitbox to make it easier to fight. The second is a mob update. While playing tag, baby Villagers will now run at a quicker speed that matches Java Edition
