The PlayStation Plus September 2022 lineup is here. The list includes Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy Versus and more. Check details and when you can start playing.
PlayStation Plus September 2022 Games: It has been a little over two months since Sony PlayStation merged PlayStation Plus with PlayStation Now to create a monthly subscription service that is similar to the XBox Game Pass. Every month PlayStation Plus has been offering new games to all the tiers — Essential, Extra and Premium. Essential, the lowest category, gets three new game titles every month whereas Extra and Premium gets a larger catalog to play, along with all the titles in Essential. This month, the Essential category gets Need for Speed Heat, Toem and Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Let us take a closer look at each of the games.
Releasing the list, PlayStation said in its blog post, “Today, we’re excited to share the lineup we have in store for the month of September.” It also revealed when players might get to try out these games. “The Monthly Games are available from September 6, and Game Catalog and Classics from September 20”. This means the Essential games will be available from September 6 (playable till October 3), whereas the Extra and Premium catalog will be released on September 20.
Need for Speed Heat
Developed by Ghost Games and published by Electronic Arts, the 24th title in the Need for Speed franchise initially released in 2019. Set in Palm City, the racing game has an open world environment map with a diverse geography. Like all NFS games, you have to race to prove your street reputation, get entangled in police pursuits, and defeat bosses to climb up the ladder. As always, Need for Speed is an entertaining game for all speed demons.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus
Developed by Arc System Works, this head-to-head fighting game is based on the RPG Granblue Fantasy. The visuals are rich and vibrant and the animation is very smooth. The game is like any other fighting game where the aim is to defeat the opponents by using combo moves and decreasing their health bar. Each player has their own unique abilities. There is also a short RPG mode. It is more of a side-scrolling game but it also has exclusive bosses and a co-op mode.
Toem
This PS5 exclusive is a photography game developed and published by Swedish independent game studio Something We Made. The animation is entirely hand-drawn and it gives an aesthetic generally not seen in video games. The gameplay is simple. You have to climb a mountain, visit towns and help locals in solving puzzles using your camera. It’s a fun game perfectly suited to the time when you need to relax.
