Spider-Man 2 launch date has been announced and it will grace the PS5 in fall of 2023. All details here.
Spider-Man 2 finally gets a launch date! The third instalment to the Spider-Man series of games from Insomniac Games is hitting the PS5 platform in fall of 2023. This is an official announcement coming from Insomniac Games, confirming the launch date of the third Spider-Man title, featuring both versions of Spider-Man under a single umbrella. The game will initially be exclusively available to players on the PS5.
Details on Spider-Man 2 are scarce at the moment, with a teaser trailer suggesting both protagonists from the previous Spider-Man titles. The game will feature Peter Parker from Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales as the two protagonists. The series could also get to see the arrival of Venom, although as the antagonist in this game.
Spider-Man 2 launch date is confirmed
The short gameplay teaser trailer shows lots of action in the typical style seen in the previous games from the Spider-Man series. The game is said to debut first on the PS5 and remain an exclusive title. Developer Insomniac Games has said that the game will push the PS5 hardware to the absolute limit.
“What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall,” says Bryan Intihar, Creative Director.
Prior to this announcement, developer Insomniac Games released both of its previous Spider-Man titles for the PC platforms. Marvel’s Spider-Man was released earlier this year on Steam for PC players and just weeks ago, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released on Steam as well. These games were optimised for the PC with support for better ray tracing and nicer optimisation.
