President Biden is facing doubts from within the Democratic Party about whether he should continue to run for reelection following his faltering performance in the first presidential debate.
Two sitting members of Congress have called for him to exit the race. More than a half dozen other prominent Democratic officials have raised concerns about his fitness as a candidate or his ability to defeat Donald Trump, while stopping short of saying he should bow out. Several former Democratic officials have also called for Biden to step aside and for the party to choose a new nominee.
But Biden has said he has every intention of staying in the race.
The Washington Post is tracking public statements from current and former top Democrats as the party reckons with the fallout from the debate.
