The month of August is here and PC gamers have a reason to be happy this month as some really interesting games will be coming to them. The previous month was a little lackluster but this month looks ready to make up for it. While this month is not going to be as huge as February 2022 when Elden Ring was released, there are definitely some games which will catch the eyes of the gamers. Thymesia is one of them which offers an Elden Ring like experience but in a completely different aesthetic. Apart from that, Saints Row reboot will be something long time fans of the franchise will be looking forward to. This month also brings Hearthstone: Murder at Castle Nathria, the second expansion of the year as well as the massive update of Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires will be released this month. Finally, for the fans of mystery games, Immortality will offer you something unique. Let us take a look at the top 5 PC games releasing this August.
Thymesia
The upcoming game brings an interesting twist to the RPG genre. Taking a leaf out of Dark Soul’s book, the game is a soulslike where players have to use the power of death and disease to curse the enemies. Being developed by OverBorder Studio and published by Team17, the game follows the main character Corvus who is in a medieval world battling knights and monsters. What’s more, Corvus can use plague as a weapon system. The game comes out on August 18.
Saints Row
Saints Row IV came out in 2013. Ever since then, fans have been asking for a new Saints Row game. While what they’re getting is not exactly a new game, the reboot is promising enough to get loyal fans excited. The core gameplay remains the same with your main objective being taking over the 9 districts and launching illegitimate businesses to help fund your ambitions. The game has revamped everything from graphics to game mechanics. Players also get a detailed character creator as well as a drop-in cooperative multiplayer mode. The game releases on August 23.
Hearthstone: Murder at Castle Nathria
The popular online card game gets its second expansion of the year with Murder at Castle Nathria. The expansion brings no less than 135 new cards, the Location card type and the Infuse keyword to the game. This adds new mechanics as well as new deck combos for players to try on. The expansion was added yesterday, August 2.
Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires
The highly anticipated Warhammer update which will combine all three campaigns of the game together and merge it into a gigantic single map comes this August. Unlike previous campaigns, the focus is not on survival battles and mission objectives and instead on map conquest. A lot of things are changing from race additions, changing of victory conditions and more. Players should expect an entirely different game once it releases on August 23.
Immortality
Unlike the other games on this list, Immortality is a narrative-focused game. Players will have to watch archival footage to piece together the mystery of the missing actress Marissa Marcel. The game comes out on August 30.
