It was rabbit season in Lincoln Center. The New York Philharmonic held a Lunar New Year concert, conducted by Long Yu, at David Geffen Hall followed by a “heritage formal” dinner on the promenade. In honor of this year’s animal, Mayor Eric Adams received a stuffed toy rabbit.
The Winter Show returned to the Park Avenue Armory and held a Young Collectors Night on Jan. 26 that benefited the East Side House. The event honored Emily Adams Bode Aujla and Aaron Singh Aujla, who dressed many of their friends in Bode. And the International Center of Photography celebrated a new exhibit on Jan. 25, featuring portraits of artists by Tacita Dean, Brigitte Lacombe and Catherine Opie.
The photography show drew a mix of well-known artists, gallery owners and writers.
‘The cape is hand-painted cashmere. It was the perfect fusion of craftsmanship and artistry for an event that celebrates those things.’ — Alden Hawkins at the Winter Show
‘I think everyone should dress for the spaces they’re in.’ — Joshua Knowlton at the Winter Show.
The New York Philharmonic’s Lunar New Year gala raised more than $1 million.
